FREE Job Training may be available to you and would provide career counseling, job search assistance, and pre-employment and life skills training tailored to each participant’s needs. Transportation assistance are also available to training participants.
Do you qualify for free training?
- You must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
- You must be either recently laid-off as a result of a business closure from an Oakland-based business or be an Oakland resident
- Labor Market Information is also researched for any employment possibilities in your area of interest
- And, each career path or area of interest requires certain skills that are evaluated prior to consideration for training

Oakland PIC uses the State of California’s approved Employment Training Provider List (ETPL) for training referrals.
