Veterans’ Priority of Service under the California Employment Development Department (EDD) guidelines ensures that veterans and eligible spouses receive priority access to job training, employment, and placement services. This policy gives qualified veterans and their families top priority when accessing various EDD programs and services, such as job search assistance, career counseling, and workforce development opportunities. Veterans’ Priority of Service is designed to honor their service by helping them successfully transition to civilian careers, providing them with the support they need to gain meaningful employment.
Veterans will be identified at the point of entry through a streamlined process designed to ensure they receive the appropriate services and benefits. When veterans access our services, they will be prompted to self-identify as veterans through a straightforward question or checkbox. This identification process helps us provide tailored support, such as priority service, specific programs, or veteran-focused resources. By ensuring veterans are recognized early, we aim to deliver the most effective assistance for employment, training, and other career development opportunities.
